The Starting Date Is 5th January 2012 And The Finishing Date Is 25th January 2012..

That ruleset is the best way to play BF3 in a competitive format.I don't think Operation Metro should be a viable map for the tournament. It is very narrow and bottle-necked and does not have the scope of the other maps that allow for strategising and teamwork.
Is it possible to make the Back to Karkand maps an option in this tournament? As they're only being released today, I'm not quite sure how well they could be implemented in an 8v8 BF3 match but just food for thought.
Also, the set time of 8pm AEDT for games is a tad early for people that live in Perth as it is 5pm for them. On a Wednesday, they're just getting home from work. The practice for a match at 8 would need to begin (by the latest) at 7 which is early for others as well. I think a set time of 9pm for games would suit everybody better - gives time to get home, have dinner, socialise with partner/family somewhat before going into the bat-gamer-cave for hours on end and enough time for pre-match prac.
I agree with buttersoft, 8v8 is a little small for some maps with a few vehicles. 10v10 is a smoother option allowing all assets to be used properly
